Here as promised, we have a unique treat for you. This 47 minute musical delight was taken directly from the turntables and sound desk of the wonderful DJ Craig Morey at a Trocadero Transfer Sunday T-Dance in 1982.

The tape it was recorded onto was a Maxell metal tape and has been carefully stored all these years by one of the White Light crew who was a Troc lighting operator at that time. The clarity and quality is amazing and really shows the crisp high frequencies that were heard over the club's legendary Graebar sound system. We're so lucky that Craig and other Troc DJs would sometimes record sets like this for staff and friends.

Sunday Tea Dances had all the beauty and energy of the wild Saturday night parties, only with a more laid back vibe. At these dances DJs would be more inclined to experiment with longer and more unusual mixes of classics and favorites as well as more obscure songs to guide us gently down from our weekend trip.

In this set, Troc resident DJ Craig Morey invites us to take his hand and join the dance. As we fall into the groove, Craig promises us all the love we need and then eases us into the glorious intro of the Hott Tracks mix of Marlena Shaw's Love Dancin'. When the time is right he glides right into the entire long mix of Suite 17. Love Dancin' and Touch Me In The Morning, were taken from Suite 17 making very hot 12" singles. These two singles became huge dance floor hits. It was a very special treat that night to hear the entire Suite 17 mix in our dance space.

"Craiger," as his friends called him didn't stop there! After taking us to the sweet, sweet bridge, he ends this set with almost all of the Disconet mix of Stormy Weather by Ms. Viola Wills. This mix of this song is sooo Trocadero, so phasey and trippy, right on!

Hearing these rare long mixes after all these years reminds us of great times shared at the Troc, with such incredibly talented DJs, dedicated staff and "all the those wonderful people out there in the dark," dancing the night away together under those sacred mirror balls.

We can share tomorrow what we had yesterday, that's why we're glad to share this piece of disco bliss with everyone. Play it loud, play it proud. We'll continue the party at the Troc on October 12 as our own DJ Jerry Bonham shares the disco love with us all.
